About the event

Created by Ohio artist Todd Slaughter in 1998, Watch House and Circle Mound has become an iconic artwork in Dublin's collection and a beloved feature in Coffman Park.

This evening event will feature a tour and conversation with the artist and the Dublin Historical Society, followed by a brief guided mindfulness practice with a local practitioner. Attendees will learn more about the inspiration for the artwork, explore its carefully preserved natural setting, and consider how it connects to the community through time. This event is free and open to the public. The tour will require walking on uneven terrain.

This event is part of Dublin Arts Council’s Public Art Speaksseries of free community events hosted at select public artworks in 2024. These one-day events invite viewers to revisit, reconsider and reimagine what Dublin’s public art may be saying today. Select artworks will come to life through guest speakers, art-making and fun activities that aim to educate and ignite dialogue around Dublin’s internationally recognized public art collection. Additional events will occur in August and October of 2024. More details will be available soon. Please call 614-889-7444 for more information.
