In 2007, Dublin Arts Council launched the Riverbox program, sparking the collection of art-created vessels that have surprised and delighted explorers in Dublin for almost 20 years. Each Riverbox is inspired by public art, geocaching, and the natural resources, histories, and beautiful scenic spaces of Dublin.

Riverboxes combine the treasure hunting hobby ˝geocaching" with public art, which creates a dynamic experience of discovery, recreation, and education.

Let curiosity lead your Riverbox adventure as you explore Dublin while learning about its rich history and beautiful environment.

INTRODUCING..

The Dublin Arts Council’s 2025 Riverbox
Geocoin!
The new Geocoin was created by designer Christian Mackey. The coin was inspired by the essence of the Scioto River and the wildlife that inhabits it. The Turtle, a symbol
of the earth is a vocal point among other
local fauna.

Christian is a self-proclaimed Geocoin addict. Since 2006 he has designed numerous geocoins and is author of the book “Discovered: Memoirs of a Geocoin Designer.”
