Position Overview
Dublin Arts Council is seeking a Creative Strategy and Engagement Intern to support program evaluation, community engagement, and storytelling. This internship provides hands-on experience in arts administration, creative research, social media strategy, community-led programming, and organizational planning with a focus in justice, equity, inclusion, and arts accessibility.
This role is ideal for undergraduate students or recent graduates who are passionate about creativity, community engagement, and social impact. The Creative Strategy and Engagement Internship serves as a learning opportunity with ongoing training and mentorship. The intern will work closely with DAC’s Administrative and Community Relations Coordinator, in collaboration with the full DAC team.
Key Responsibilities & Learning Areas
Community Research, Evaluation, and Creative Strategy

Learn and apply research tools and frameworks used in just, equitable, and community-centered arts administration.

Assist in creating system maps that help visualize DAC’s programs, partnerships, and workflows.

Help document and assess DAC’s current practices and programming

Support creative and accessible methods of gathering community input and feedback (surveys, conversations, interactive tools, etc.).
Community Engagement and Programming

Assist with community-based programs such as Art in Public Places, ARTboxes, gallery exhibitions, and other initiatives.

Help design and test creative strategies that encourage active community-led engagement

Support relationship-building with community partners, artists, schools, and local organizations.

Assist with front-office visitor engagement and help create a welcoming experience for guests.
Communications and Storytelling

Contribute to DAC’s communications through multidimensional social media content, digital storytelling, and outreach materials.

Support planning, creating, and scheduling posts across various platforms.

Experiment with communication styles and formats to reach multiple different audiences.

Help review and assess DAC’s current communication method
Skills and Qualifications
Required

Interest in arts, creativity, community engagement, and social impact

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Openness to learning new tools, research methods, and creative strategies

Ability to work collaboratively and take initiative

Cultural humility and respect

Attention to detail and strong organizational habits
Preferred (not required)

Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin)

Basic skills using Canva, Adobe Suite, or other platforms

Familiarity with community engagement, arts administration, or non-profit work

Coursework or experience in arts, design, social sciences, communications, or related fields
Internship Details

In-person at Dublin Arts Council

February-December 2026 (flexible based on academic schedule)

10 hours per week (schedule flexible within business hours)

Academic credit or paid internship, depending on academic requirements
