America250 celebrates the 250th anniversary of the U.S., showcasing history, art, volunteer work, and so much more all over the country. Each state hosts a variety of programs and events to celebrate their feats and contributions to America’s excellence. With creativity as a cornerstone of Ohio, The Ohio Creativity Trail highlights 109 sites across Ohio, spanning 6 artistic themes encompassing the rich, diverse art of Ohio’s past and present.

Among these, Dublin proudly calls itself home to: “Watch House and Circle Mound” by Ohioan artist Todd Slaughter, located in Coffman Park, is a historic and symbolic public art piece. Intended to reveal more of itself as viewers approach, this small house with a spherical dome atop pays homage to tribal mounds, planetariums, and family life. This work brings attention to the historical importance of indigenous populations, such as the Hopewell and Adena, in Dublin, and Ohio as a whole.

Aside from this piece, many other stops on the Creativity Trail lie in Columbus. Unique collections can be found in the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum and the Ohio Craft Museum, while public art and compelling architecture surround the Ohio Statehouse.

Visit “Watch House and Circle Mound” and other Columbus artworks today, and celebrate this grand moment in history by immersing yourself in the inspiring, historic, and educational tour of Ohio’s incredible art on The Ohio Creativity Trail!
