Curious about public art?
Complete an application for Dublin Arts Council’s Public Art Incubator!
Applications are now available for high school students.
This two-week experience will be hosted at Dublin Arts Council
7125 Riverside Drive, Dublin, OH 43016
Students will explore Dublin’s public art collection, conduct site-visits and meet the practicing artists and caretakers behind this internationally recognized collection. Students will create their own proposal for a site specific permanent public artwork and advance their skills with the culmination of a temporary public artwork.
Dates: Monday - Friday, 10:00am - 2:00pm, July 15 - 26, 2024
Tuition: $300
Open to high school students only
(includes rising freshman and graduating seniors)
Applications are now available. Deadline to submit is Friday, May 24, 2024.
Students will be notified of their enrollment status by June 3, 2024. Tuition support may be available for students who request financial assistance.
One-of-a-kind experience
A first of its kind in Dublin, the incubator will provide students with the opportunity to explore concepts, trends, and practices related to the field of public art. To allow for deeper engagement, only 15 high school students will be selected to participate.
A waitlist will be developed.
Learn from a public artist
Dublin Arts Council is excited to partner with public artist and art educator Todd Smith who will provide instruction for the incubator program. Smith is a celebrated public artist and creator of Dublin’s beloved Exuvia sculptures in Coffman Park. Smith joins us from Telluride Mountain School in Telluride, Co., where he teaches art to students of all ages.
Typical Schedule
Dublin Arts Council will be the host site for the two-week incubator. Students/parents will arrive/depart from here each day. Students are asked to bring their own lunches and encouraged to wear attire appropriate for art-making and outdoor excursions.
Health and Safety
Once enrolled, students and their parents/guardians will be asked to complete a student release form with necessary health and safety information.
Payment
After a student has been notified of their enrollment, payment can be made online (a link will be provided), over the phone at 614-889-7444 or in-person at Dublin Arts Council, 7125 Riverside Drive.
Withdrawal/Refunds
Withdrawal and refunds are available upon request. We kindly ask that students/parents notify Dublin Arts Council as soon as possible if their availability changes. This provides time to notify waitlisted students.
