Hillary Perhot: Tactile Records
Photographer Hillary Perhot’s practice transforms based on sense, nonsense and serious play. In a time of massive image circulation, high-resolution 4k pictures and full-frame digital sensor cameras of ever-increasing mega-pixels, Perhot focuses her attention toward tactile, analog methods of photography.
The Columbus Crossing Borders Project
While millions of people are fleeing war, terror and persecution, 34 artists and a film crew have embarked on a mission to inspire understanding and compassion. The Columbus Crossing Borders Project, directed by Laurie VanBalen and documentary filmmaker Doug Swift, is presented as a traveling visual art exhibition and documentary film.
The Sphere of Magic and other Visionary Objects/Extraordinary Images by Mark Soppeland
Artist Mark Soppeland, a distinguished professor of art emeritus at the Myers School of Art, The University of Akron, performs the roles of conceptualist, designer, craftsman, historian, philosopher, storyteller, pantheist, scientist and magician in The Sphere of Magic and other Visionary Objects/Extraordinary Images, his solo exhibition of mixed media paintings, collages and sculpture at Dublin Arts Council. The artwork relates to Soppeland’s interest in interpreting the symbolic and cultural baggage of found objects and images to evoke memory.

Urur Dhex-Dhexaad Ah: Community In-Between
Dublin Arts Council will present Urur Dhex-Dhexaad Ah: Community In-Between, a photography exhibition featuring portraits of 15 central Ohio Somali trailblazers created by two female Somali high school student photographers and accompanied by written and video personal narratives, artifacts, and oral histories delivered by augmented reality.
Southern Exposures: Photography of the Rural South by Barbara Breen
Southern Exposures: Photography of the Rural South combines Barbara Breen’s passion for photography, natural landscapes, continuous learning and travel to provide a body of work focused on unique architecture, cemeteries and people in rural towns. Her dedication to preserving the untouched regions of the southern landscape is illustrated in a solo exhibition on view from June 20 to July 28 at Dublin Arts Council, 7125 Riverside Dr., in Dublin, Ohio.

emerging: An Exhibition of Student Artwork
emerging is Dublin Arts Council’s (DAC) popular annual exhibition of artwork created by students who live within Dublin City Schools’ (DCS) attendance area and students who have participated in DAC summer ARTcamps. The juried exhibition includes Best of Show and cash awards in five categories from kindergarten through grade 12 and the DCS POWER Plus program. The exhibition will be on display in Dublin Arts Council’s (DAC) gallery, 7125 Riverside Dr., in Dublin from Jan. 10 through Feb. 17, 2017.
