About the event
Helen Hoffelt, Professor Emerita at Columbus College of Art and Design (CCAD) and professional photographer, and Char Norman, CCAD Dean Emerita and fiber artist, have come together to produce contemporary work based on the idea that natural forces affect and reflect the human condition. This collection of two-dimensional and three-dimensional work addresses environmental issues as they relate to communities as far away as the Amazon Rainforest and as close as Central Ohio. The artists have traveled extensively together, gathering inspiration and materials. Natural beauty and resources are contrasted with pollutants, climate change, and resource mismanagement which contribute to the precariousness of our environment. The work is comprised of a combination of materials and techniques, relating to the expertise of each individual artist as well as joint explorations and discoveries.
Join us for an opening reception to meet the artists and view their works. On view in the Dublin Arts Council gallery, free of charge, from September 14 – October 29, 2024. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the second Saturday of each month from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
