Columbus-based artist Anthony Gelpi returns to the Dublin Arts Council gallery with his latest glass exhibition, Transparency. Gelpi is a full time glass studio artist and has been working with glass since 1996. He has studied at many glass schools and factories including Pilchuck Glass School, Stanwood, Wash.,The Studio at the Corning Museum, Corning, N.Y. and Glass Axis, Columbus, Ohio. He studied internationally at Planas Viau in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Scuola del Vetro Abate Zanetti in Murano, Italy. Gelpi has taught at Cam Ocagi in Istanbul, Turkey and has exhibited and been represented in prominent galleries and museums throughout the United States and internationally.

“I got into this business to discover all of what glass has to offer, and the possibilities are limitless,” says Gelpi. “My designs are traditional in coloring but contemporary in form and consistently evolving.”

Anthony Gelpi: Transparency opens with an artists’ reception Thursday, Nov. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dublin Arts Council, 7125 Riverside Dr., in Dublin. A pre-opening reception and wine tasting fundraiser will also be hosted in conjunction with the exhibition, Tuesday, Nov. 18 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets, which are available here, are $75 per person.

The exhibition will remain on view through Dec. 19. The Nov. 20 reception and the exhibition are free of charge. Reception hors d’oeuvres are provided by Bleu & Fig, Dublin Arts Council’s Visual Art Series catering sponsor. Gallery hours are Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
