March 5 – April 19, 2013
Dublin Arts Council gallery, 7125 Riverside Dr., Dublin, Ohio
Opening reception Tuesday, March 5, 6 to 8 p.m. (free)

Robert Mullins: Kinetic Sculpture is an exhibition of series of aluminum and stainless steel kinetic sculptures. The exhibition will feature some of the actual maquettes used in realizing several large-scale artworks that have been commissioned and installed in the Greater Columbus area since 1992.

Mullins’ intent is to create graceful form upon an elegant mechanical design. The studies of form and design combine to produce the interesting dynamics of kinetic art.

Robert Mullins, a Columbus area resident, business owner and artist, received a Bachelor of Fine Art from Kent State University in 1977. He started a metal fabricating shop in 1988, specializing in custom metal sign products. As more divergent types of work evolved, the business became known as “The Wind Kinetics Institute, Inc.” and continues today in an exploration of kinetic outdoor sculpture that combines aesthetic design with mechanical fundamentals.

Robert Mullins: Kinetic Sculpture will be on view in the Dublin Arts Council gallery, 7125 Riverside Dr., in Dublin from March 5 through April 19, 2013. The exhibition opens with a reception with the artist at Dublin Arts Council on March 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition and opening reception are free of charge. Exhibition hours: Tuesday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
