Donegal Cliffs Park was formerly a limestone quarry that served the Dublin, Ohio area, providing large stones for building and fencing and crushed rock for roadways. The dramatic landscape of Donegal Cliffs was formed as a result of the mining process.

Artist and Credits:

Columbus, Ohio artist Eric Marlow graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Ohio State University.  Trained in a variety of media, including sculpture, drawing and painting, Marlow began designing jewelry in the mid 1960s.  His small sculptural works, described as having a timeless quality, have been the hallmark of his artistic career. Marlow has been involved with educational recycling programs and project development since 1990. He has also published an illustrated instruction booklet and CD that focuses on working with recyclables. Marlow currently offers a series of recycling workshops through the Greater Columbus Arts Council’s Artist-in-Schools program.

Marlow’s vision for his Riverbox includes developing a “natural nesting environment” created from products of up-stream activity deposited along the banks of the Scioto. Marlow writes, “The Riverbox message will show what we perceived as trash and debris to actually be valuable resources that should be valued and recycled rather than thrown in the trash or left to litter the landscape."
