2008 Community Arts Grant Recipients are:

Dublin Area Art League
Since its inception in 1985, the Dublin Area Art League’s membership has steadily grown and represents many varied talents. The group includes artists from beginners to professionals. While DAAL membership includes some full-time artists, the majority of members work in other fields. DAAL offers a convenient, friendly way for members to develop their talents, meet with other artists and keep an interest in creating visual arts. DAAL is open to any age and any level of ability. Meetings are held during the season from September through May from 6:30 to 9pm, the second Thursday of each month at the Dublin Public Library.

DAAL also sponsors several opportunities throughout the year for members to exhibit their works. An annual spring show is held at the Dublin Recreation Center. Permanent exhibition space within the Dublin Rec Center is also rotated among members. Other DAAL events have included a Distinctly Dublin Art Calendar contest and the Dublin Art Stroll in historic Dublin.

For more information, please call DAAL President Cindy Bryden at 614-793-9568 or Carolyn Woda, membership chairman at 614-888-7380. DAAL’s web address is: www.dublinohioart.com.

The Dublin Singers
The Dublin Singers is a Community Chorus, drawn and bound together by a common love of music and an uncommon desire to perform professionally while retaining individual professions. A Community Chorus provides an opportunity for singers beyond high school age who enjoy singing a wide variety of choral music: sacred, secular, classical, popular, show tunes and folk tunes to perform for the mutual benefit of their fellow singers and the community in which they live.

The Dublin Singers, Dublin's Community Chorus, has one common goal: to make and share beautiful music. Rehearsals provide each singer the opportunity to develop his/her vocal range and ability. Further, rehearsals will promote a community spirit which will reflect not only the Singers but Dublin itself. If you would like to be a part of this dynamic group, please contact Director Mary Fran Cassidy by phone 740/363--3319, by mail c/o P.O.Box 163, Dublin, OH 43017, or visit http://www.dublinsingers.org for more information.

Emerald City Players

Emerald City Players is a progressive community theater, located in Dublin. Its mission is "To enrich Dublin by providing a quality live theater experience that entertains and offers artistic opportunities for the community."

ECP was created in October of 1998 as Dublin's Community Theater organization. The group's inception grew out of a survey in which the Dublin community requested that the Dublin Recreation Center include a cultural arts facility. The community survey illustrated that live theater is an integral part of the Dublin community.

The group is always seeking additional volunteers to fill numerous production and administrative positions. Season sponsorship and benefactor packages are available. Those interested in volunteering are asked to send a resume and cover letter to Emerald City Players, P.O. Box 309, Dublin, OH 43017-0309. No experience is necessary. Emerald City Players will train. For further information, call (614) 470-1525 or visit our website at www.emeraldcityplayers.com.
